Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah receives the majority of its operating funds from our household recycling program. We take your gently used and reusable goods and sell them to Savers stores along the Wasatch Front. Savers is owned and operated by Savers, Inc.

DONATING YOUR HOUSEHOLD ITEMS IS AS EASY AS 1-2-3!

There are 2 alternative ways to donate your gently used and reusable goods:

1. Look for the yellow card in your mailbox or call a Donor Services Representative from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah to schedule a pick-up at 801-747-1050 in Salt Lake County or 800-238-8061, outside Salt Lake County, or email us at donation.center@bbbs.org.
   
2. On your scheduled pick-up day, mark them with a BBBS or the card and place your usable household items on your curbside, clearly visible from the street by 8:00 AM.  Please call us at (801) 747-1050 if you are placing them somewhere else so we do not miss them.  Please call us if you have furniture or an exceptionally large  donation.
   
3. Your items will be picked up by a Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah driver and a donation receipt will be left for your tax records.

Place your items in one of our blue donation bins located along the Wasatch Front.   Click here to find the donation bin nearest you.  Call us for a receipt.

Our Donation Center Vice President, Bill Forman handles all questions and concerns in regards to Donation Bins.  If you would like to add a drop off box to your business or hold a clothing drive, please contact Bill at (801) 313-0303 ext 125 or  via e-mail at bill.forman@bbbs.org.

By choosing to donate your used items, instead of throwing it away, you are helping to preserve precious landfill space. Time, energy and raw materials are also saved when items such as the ones donated to The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah are reused instead of using new items.
