| About Us & Offices
Big Brothers Big Sisters helps children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah has been serving the Wasatch Front since 1978 by matching youth with carefully screened volunteers. The resulting friendship brings magic into the lives of both the volunteer and the child, and is a mutually rewarding and fulfilling experience. Big Brothers Big Sisters offers various mentoring programs to fit the needs of every individual volunteer, including programs just right for busy people.
Please take a look around our website...there is information about the agency programs available to volunteer in, you can meet the staff, sign on to bowl in Bowl For Kids Sake, see who our sponsors are, find out how to benefit the program by donating your used household goods and clothing, and take a look at the agency activities.
The "Good News"
Why Volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters?
In our own lives, each of us was touched by someone - other than our parents - who introduced us to new worlds and brought a little magic into our lives. By becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, you can do the same for a child. And you will both be forever changed by the experience.
You can be the person to take a kid to his first Jazz game...and watch his eyes light up when he walks into the busy Energy Solutions Arena! You can help your Little Sister plant flowers...and enjoy watching her get excited when they bloom! Show your Little Brother around the local college campus...have lunch in the Union building, play Frisbee on the lawn...and your Little Brother will see that college isn't as intimidating and unattainable as he once thought. Do YOU have a desire to fly a kite, or play with remote control cars, or have a tea party, or play on the playground? You may have been holding yourself back because you're an adult - but with a Little Brother or Little Sister, you can do kid things again!
Volunteering as a Big Brother or Big Sister offers you many, many opportunities to create magic in the life of your Little Brother or Little Sister. And your life too.
